The Italian Job

THE ITALIAN JOB

HITTING DEADLINES NO MATTER WHAT

PROBLEM?

At 10am one morning, a customer called with an exceptional request. Can you get a pallet of car mirror parts to Turin, Italy for us for 8am tomorrow? Why 8am? The parts had to be fitted and the cars shipped to Russia that afternoon. Couriers told us the timelines just weren’t doable. But was it really mission impossible?

SOLUTION!

After a quick brainstorm, we realised there was a way. One of us had to drive to Italy and deliver the parts personally. Dan Holland put up his hand. While Dan dashed home to pick up his pick-up, the rest of us quickly organised the route, maps and tickets. The clock was already ticking.

RESULT

After a 15-hour journey, through unexpected snow in the Alps, finding his way with the help of maps, mobile calls to our traffic office and conversations in broken English with the locals, Dan arrived. In fact, not only did he arrive, but he arrived early. Just in time for the parts to be fitted, loaded and the cars despatched to Russia; to Russia with love.
